Listy Thursday (like Thirsty Thirsdays, but without the alcohol):
- Tina Fey, I love ya and all, but you've got to stop with the Mean Girls impression. Because SNL isn't always all that (y'know what I'm sayin?)
- I'm so excited about the new season of Top Chef. I've Tivo'd the last two weeks, and tonight I'm gonna get down to business.
- Dinner was nice - I met a bunch of arty types (our friend H just got tenure in a Film Studies department) - so the conversation was both adult AND yet was not your usual mix of what do you do/business/law/politics. Awesome! The only shop talk that happened was with H's father, a lawyer. He said that I should have been in his family, since his father and grandfather before him had been lawyers but he and his wife have never wanted to pressure H (the only son) to follow suit.
- At one point, J and I were talking to two other married with children couples when we got to the appropriate point in the conversation where pictures get shown. That's when I pulled out my blackberry, and the two other mommies pulled out their respective iPhone and iPod. Surprisingly, this is the first time that this has happened to me in such a noteworthy fashion.
- Kali was very lovey-dovey this morning. Guess she missed me last night. As soon as she got up, she wanted to be snuggled, and she kept showering me with big smackeroo kisses (she smacks her lips very dramatically every time she plants one on anyone's cheeks).
- After reading a bunch more Personal Finance blogs, I am beginning to realize how terribly crappy I am at the whole PF thing. I don't keep very good records, I don't know how to use Quicken, I haven't done my taxes yet. On the other hand, I really only started down the PF road not because of some desire to build up my net worth (though that would be nice), but because I'm trying to make a conscious effort to reduce my ecological footprint.
- I'm reading Supercapitalism by Robert Reich. Lurve him. I'll dedicate a post to this book when I'm done.
- There really is something wrong with this country: where it is financially more rewarding to be a plastic surgeon/dermatologist than to be a internist or general practitioner.
- I'm not working tomorrow because it's Good Friday and the nanny needs the day off.
OOH, you had Good Friday off as well!
Hah, I need to upgrade some of my electronic gadgets... after the storm, after the storm...
Isn't it refreshing to have an adult night out? (Not that I'd know yet - but I have seen 2 movies in the last month!)

Did you say Nanny? I'm so jealous.
